Even though most of this year’s young fashion designers came prepared to win the Mr Price Internship, only three of them were lucky to scoop the prize, which is every designer’s dream.

FDB Human Store is one of the fashion houses that created breathtaking, colourful and street wear outfits with different materials that made them unique and eye catching.

They complemented their stunning designs with painting. Their designs differed from jean dungarees, colourful shirts and wrappers for men, gold and orange dress, lime jumpsuit complimented with a colourful jean blazer and many more. Their clothing line unleashed different characters and is suitable for the young people.

On the other hand, La-Letsatsi also showcased sophisticated fashionable and brilliantly embroidered outfits with a bit of colour here and there. Colours of their clothes included gold, grey and black.

Her line had jumpsuits, trousers and dresses. Meanwhile, Glotto also showcased beautiful clothes. Their wardrobe included a colourful trouser and bare back, boob tube dress, colourful shirt and warpper for men, black and brown shorts and shirt for men, white short and shirt set for ladies, shorts and bra for women, colourful check shorts and shirt for men.

One of the designers whose clothing line was breathtaking includes a 15-year-old Enhle Babes Couture from SA, whose colourful clothes could not be ignored. At her tender age with so much talent it is evident that she was going far in the fashion industry. She designed clothes for girls starting from toddlers to teenagers and young women.

Her designs included skirts and top sets, shorts, trousers and top sets together with dresses. However, other fashion designers who did not win the Mr Price Internship also showcased beautiful pieces including JR Gletph, Black Excellence Clothing and Wabi-Sabi Original from Botswana. Other international talented fashion designers included Cherush by Carita Adams, JoszyByR both from SA and Urban Zulu-SA/DRC. Botswana’s talented Mpho Sebina treated the audience with beautiful melodies from her new song titled ‘Fire.’ She dressed for the occasion and looked gorgeous on her dusty pink long dress. Moreover, models Ramo Tshabalala from SA and Naledi Maifala from Botswana were announced as CTM Mentorship Programme winners.

According to Lay Ntesetsang, CTM Nationwide Store Manager, since CTM is turning 40 years this year, they decided to celebrate with their customers by giving back to the community. She explained that when brainstorming how to give back to the community, they ended up deciding to collaborate with fashion designers because they could easily relate with them. “We wanted to work with fashion designers because we deal with fashion. Our products are always beautifully designed that is why we always have customers asking how we do our products and it can only be creativity. Our products cater for every Motswana,” she explained.

For her part, FWB co-founder Tebo Bakwena-Kabisoso who was accompanied by her husband expressed gratitude towards the growth of their event and the impact it had contributed towards the growth of fashion designers and models from different countries which showcases in their event. She added that both CTM and Mr Price Internships would boost the winners’ profession and profiles.
