‘The Picnic Session’, which returns for its second stint, will be held at the Wagga Gardens tomorrow (Saturday). The ‘Stimela’ hit maker continues to incessantly establish himself as the busiest international artist this year in Botswana enjoying multiple bookings in the country. In an interview with MICAF's marketing and brand manager, Palo Mosomodi, he stated that Ntate Stunna’s work speaks for himself as the fanatics seem to be besotted with him and his work. He added that most people work with him because not for any moment has he let his fans in Botswana down by not honouring his bookings. “Ntate Stunna is a great talent and knows what he is doing. He can do wonders with his talent as he respects his bookings by showing up for them,” Mosomodi said. Mosomodi further explained that ‘The Picnic Session’ offers a surreal feeling as it combines different types of music genres under one roof since the imposing Amapiano dominance started.
“’The Picnic Session’ will be a musical event like no other. It will be an event with a unique blend of local and international artists performing on stage and this will feature a variety of musical genres including Hip Hop, RnB, Pop, and our very own traditional music of Botswana,” explained Mosomodi. He said the line-up comprises some of Botswana’s celebrated deejays and artists like, DJ Ngwazi, ATI, Han C, Ezra Neethings and Dr Vom while the hosts are Hey Nyenaa, Kagiso de Klerk and Miss Gee Kays. Additionally, he highlighted that not only will there be endless entertainment from artists but there will also be food and drinks for revellers to enjoy. Mosomodi stated that MICAF's objectives include among others raising capital to alleviate the creative industry.
“The main mandate is to raise funds for MICAF Foundation which supports music and cultural development initiatives here in Botswana and this will do so by promoting music education, provide musical instruments and equipment to underprivileged schools and communities,” he explained.
Meanwhile, he pointed out that the preparations of the event have been going on really well as they are holding the event for the second time since its inception. Tickets for the event sell for P150 early bird, P200 standard, P300 double and P450 golden circle.
