BITC executives visit local companies

The BITC CEO, Olebile Keletsositse alongside his officials, visited several companies including the country’s largest wheat and maize milling company Bolux, Exelligent as well as Medical Devices Botswana. “The BITC plays a crucial role in creating a favourable business environment in priority sectors and industries,” Keletsositse said following the visits. “We are the enabling partner by providing value-added services such as permitting, licensing and AfterCare services to these companies.”
According to the agency, the purpose of the visits is to understand and appreciate the company's operations, as well as to identify opportunities for further assistance and facilitation by BITC. They are also part of the ongoing AfterCare programme by the CEO to engage with investors, understand their successes and challenges, and explore opportunities for further expansion. Some of the business have benefitted from Botswana Stop Service Centre (BOSSC), which is an investment facilitation centre within the BITC that houses relevant agencies as a structure that provides prompt, efficient and transparent services to investors. The aftercare programme is aimed at increasing private sector input into government decision making on doing business in Botswana. The BITC also plays a crucial role in facilitating expansions of these companies as well as spearheads growth of exports by promoting locally manufactured goods to regional and international markets.
