The national team will go into camp to prepare for back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against Mozambique and Guinea next week. The BFL has responded by postponing games involving teams with three or more players in the Zebras squad. 'We have permitted teams that have three or more players to postpone their games, as BFA requested for at least seven days camp prior to the (November) 16th game,' BFL chairperson, Nicholas Zakhem told MmegiSport today.
The Zebras open their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mozambique at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium next week Thursday before engaging Guinea at the same venue on November 21. It will be new coach, Didier Gomes da Rosa's first match in charge and the Frenchman has called what has been hailed as a balanced squad for the two matches. However, there has been an outcry over the omission of Gaborone United captain, Mpho Kgaswane. The new man has called up 31 players for his provisional squad has six Rollers players and seven from GU. Domestic champions, Jwaneng Galaxy only contribute four players to the national side.
