Premier League clubs' demand for a meeting which would have seen them push for the removal of Botswana Football League (BFL) chairperson, Nicholas Zakhem and board member, Jagdish Shah has been declared unprocedural. The fall-out emanates from a decision to gradually reduce Premier League teams from 16 to 12. As a result, the clubs wrote the BFL secretariat requesting a shareholders meeting. However, BFL CEO, Senzo Mbatha told Mmegi Sport the shareholders did not meet the 75% threshold required to call a meeting as per the constitution. He said, therefore, the petition was unprocedural. Some clubs are against the reduction of Premier League teams and want the status quo to remain.
