Simply Piano marred by negative publicity

The event had garnered negative publicity after taking to social media that they had booked Shebeshxt. Shebeshxt’s booking later turned out to be bogus as the organisers issued a statement that ‘President Yama 2k’ will not be at Simply Piano. Shebeshxt’s pull out affected the turnout of the first ever Simply Piano as the revellers could not even fill half of the Game City Rooftop Parkade.
Despite the low turnout, the event still forged ahead and some revellers still got to enjoy the performances of Kamo Mphela. The South African national dished out an electrifying performance of 15 minutes. Before her performance, revellers seemed to be out of place and rooted on their camp chairs while some were busy on their phones but that soon changed when she took to the stage.
The talented star started her performance with her song titled Amanikiniki. Born Kamogelo Matona, she showed revellers why she is always considered to be the multi-faceted artist with impressive choreographed dance moves and her prowess in vocals.
She incessantly delivered a scintillating performance with her hits like Sandton, Hannah Montana and Nkulunkulu. She closed off her performance with her now trending hot single, Dalie.
After her performance, the mood of the patrons seemed to dampen as the next artists in the line up could not match her energy. But that changed when DJ Bunny took to the stage and served classical local songs. He took people down the memory lane with Dramaboi's songs like Sala le Nna and Mosutele. Before closing of his performance, he moved from local songs to now hot Amapiano songs like Iplan.
Mashudu was up next after DJ Bunny and she too did not disappoint. Mashudu who is still establishing herself in her music career started her performance with Mina Nawe. Just like Kamo Mphela her performance spanned over 15 minutes. She included songs like Kwelizayo, Hatima, and Asbonge.
She closed the curtains on her perfomance with her new single with Kabza De Small titled Ucingo.
Another international artist who is still making a name for herself, Zee nhle delivered her performance. Despite coming out as a shy person, the Awukhuzeki hitmaker managed to hold it through until the end of her performance. Other performances came from Feloletee, Mr Henny, DJ Ngwazi and many more..
