In an interview with Showbiz, Hilton Gardening general manager, Thabani Ndlovu said they started the event in 2020 during COVID-19 after realising that there was a gap when it came to marketing local entrepreneurs. She added that through the Pusha BW initiative, they had an opportunity to showcase local talent. 'We do this for the people and to showcase their talents.
The atmosphere here and the mood is great. We have about 20 people who have accepted to exhibit. We started off rotating exhibitors last year so we have so far hosted a lot of local talents and most of them have given us positive feedback. We have taken our talents abroad where they got exposure.
We also have a corner where we sell local products for our young entrepreneurs free of charge and give them all their proceeds,' she said. For her part, HATAB chief executive officer (CEO), Lodu Rakorong said they supported Hilton Garden because as their member they have also aligned with their mandate of promoting tourism in Botswana. She added that the event promoted and created market access for products made in the country. She added that she was happy that most of the exhibitors were youth adding that they needed as much exposure as possible. She also said that would push Botswana forward.
