Masiloamangwe will have an opportunity to walk down the fashion ramp at the upcoming Volta Fashion Week in Accra, Ghana on December 29, 2023.

Masiloamangwe told Arts&Culture that she was looking forward to participating at the fashion show. She added it was a privilege to be invited to participate at the Volta Fashion Week and Awards and Honors and also being nominated under the category of Star Africa Runway Model of the year 2023.

“I aspire to go beyond the horizon as far as New York and Paris Fashion Week. I am a type of person who does not sit and await fate to hand me things or chances, but push beyond hardships through hard work. I have previously graced Zambia, South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia beauty corners. My modelling career aspires to partake in more international modelling gigs,” she pointed out.

Furthermore, Masiloamangwe said she began modelling in 2017, and has worked with Jan Malan at the Masa Fashion Show and has been to events like African Women Designers Week in Mozambique, Gabs July, Africa Fashion International (AFI) and also participated in Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit. She has also won Shinning Star Africa award still in modelling at Sandton in South Africa, and was nominated for the Zikomo Africa Awards in Zambia.

This young talent said the National Arts Council of Botswana had provided her with a sponsorship to grow her craft. She explained that the good gesture came at the right time as the most challenging aspect models face included being nominated abroad for awards, fashion works and lacking transportation or flight and accommodation logistics.

She further explained that currently, modelling locally does not yield much income to sustain her. She, however, pointed out that she was looking forward to the future with higher anticipation for international gigs ready to stand and shine. Masiloamangwe encouraged upcoming models to go to school, work and do modelling as a side job as it is hard without sponsors and income.
