In an interview with the founder of ART Handz and Amateki Culture, Benjamin Boitumelo, he said the shampoo was inspired by the fact that sometimes as individuals they realise that their sneakers are messy at the last minute when they need to go out. He explained that the shampoo is ideal as it is time-saving and a convenient solution to clean up sneakers in a short period of time at any given place.

Boitumelo explained that he learnt how to make the shampoo from research and trials over a year ago. He said she realised that most sneaker washers use harsh detergents to wash their sneakers so he came up with it to provide a solution that does not damage or cause loss of colour to sneakers.
“Currently the sneaker shampoo is suitable for leather sneakers but also it does work on leather hand bags and on lightly messy suede sneakers. The shoe shampoo is an addition to my sneaker solutions meant to save time for its user. It is also an excellent solution to keep sneakers cleaned at a lower cost as one bottle cleans up to 20 pairs at a cost of P100 only.
I mostly use friendly cleaning detergents and natural oils to leave the sneakers moisturised and fresh scents to enhance a great factor deodorising which some are sourced locally and internationally,” he explained. Furthermore, he pointed out that the public reacted positively towards his shoe shampoo. He added that he received great reviews from most of his product consumers who attested that the product was very effective and reliable as they could also travel with it to any place and clean their sneakers at their comfort. He said it was currently available at KM Sales, Main Mall and through direct contact.
He added that the shampoo was on the market for four months now adding that he wants to push it to other places and create employment opportunities to fellow youth which 50% would be women. He also stated that as a fellow creative, that product was part of his sneaker solutions services, which besides it he does sneaker and denim wear customising, premium sneaker wash, face and body, mural painting and events management by qualification from Limkokwing University. “I also have shoe laces as an edition to my sneaker care business, which are sold at the same place as the shampoo.
This shampoo is Botswana's first sneaker care kit and the most affordable in the market. Also I am working on more products to solve day-to-day sneaker problems.
