Quartet accused of stealing BTC cable worth P330,000

The state asserts that the quartet, along with others not currently before the court, acting together with a common purpose, stole a BTC cable valued at P329, 385 near Matsiloje village on January 29. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge during their appearance before Magistrate Tshepo Magetse. Prosecutor Moatlhodi Macheng informed the court that investigations into the matter were ongoing. 'We are yet to record statements from witnesses, and we pray that the accused should be further remanded in custody,' Macheng stated. Magistrate Magetse urged the prosecution to expedite its investigations as the accused have been in jail since their arrest. The accused were further remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear in court again on February 22.
