This annual event which takes place every second week of February, brings together a diverse range of talents, including live performances, singing, poetry, rapping, open mic performances and art exhibitions. With its unique blend of music, coffee, and gothic aesthetics, the event provides a platform for artists to showcase their creativity and connect with a like-minded community. The host of Music and Coffee with Goth Rose, Goth Rose said their aim for this show is to keep growing, and evolving as a platform for artists and people who consume creativity. But growing in a way that creates value within the creative industry, monetary value, opportunities, endorsements, media exposure, economy diversification and many other ways. “Music and Coffee with Goth Rose started in 2022. The greatest motivation was to educate people about local creativity in the hope that we give power to local creatives. And the best way to go about it was to create an experience for them to connect to. Plus, music and coffee have a therapeutic thing to them, so why not share with others,” said Rose.
The event featured an array of captivating live performances that enthralled the audience. Musicians from various genres, including alternative rock, darkwave, and industrial, took to the stage; haunting melodies and powerful lyrics transported the listeners to a world of introspection and emotion, leaving a lasting impact on all those in attendance. In addition to live music, the event also showcased the talents of singers, poets, and rappers like Black Hxppy, Ms Candi, Jedediah, Sam Kush, Ron De Artist, Soleirra, The Dutches and Jackalas one time. The stage became a platform for individuals to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through their chosen art forms. The diversity of performances allowed for a rich tapestry of voices, each contributing to the overall atmosphere of creativity and self-expression.
Complementing the musical performances, the Music and Coffee with Goth Rose event featured captivating art exhibitions. Paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media installations adorned the walls, providing a visual feast for attendees from Ron De Artist and Color in Segoh. The artworks, often exploring themes of darkness, beauty, and the macabre, added depth and complexity to the event, encouraging dialogue and introspection among the visitors. “Music and Coffee with Goth Rose started in 2022. She further explained that they are always looking for ways to showcase the spectrum of creativity and how much they augment each other. With this show, ‘Will you be my art’, we wanted the artists to tell their version of the theme on the canvas. Music is divine and it always finds a way to package the mood, thoughts and feelings in any given moment.
