The audience had the privilege to witness the rich Setswana culture including folklore poetry by Serurubele and Skit Kabomo as well as folklore music by Radipitse. They also played traditional games such as koi, mhele, diketo while some rode horses and a donkey cart.
They also enjoyed Setswana cuisine such as bogobe jwa mabele, morogo wa Setswana, butternut, chicken, mogodu. They sipped popular local beverages such as ginger famed as gemere and traditional beer while being treated to a beautiful music festival in the evening by local traditional groups from across the country such as Sehenya, former Kakapa singer Tshumu and others.
For the evening performances, South African music legend, Johny Mokhali, his fourth wife and band, took the audience back to their tender years with his famous songs such as Lerato ka mogala, O tla gola le tsona, Batlogele batle go nna and others. Even though the sound quality was bad, he managed to give his fans a performance to remember.
As it is a norm, Dr Vom's performance brought life to the event. He got the audience dancing and singing. The legendary jazz maestro, Ndingo Jowah, also delivered a sterling performance. For a man his age, he surely has the moves. Meanwhile, a local traditional dance and songstress, Mma Ausi, delivered a breathtaking performance that got revellers intrigued. Other artists that served the audiences with splendid performances included Maxy Khoisan, Sereetsi and the Natives, Nono Siile who also performed a song with Charma Gal, ATI, and DJ Boogie Sid. Furthermore, the event attracted a number of people including the young and the old.
Like most of the local cultural events, SOTS patrons, more especially the women, dressed to kill. If there is a place to seek inspiration for designs, SOTS was an ideal place. Women wore different designs and colours. They made the venue colourful. Even though men's fashion designs are limited, they also this year came prepared and dressed to kill.
