Blood extraction application postponed

The trio appeared in court this morning where the State was expected to present its case for the extraction of blood samples from the accused. According to the State lawyer, Onalenna Madimabe, the prosecution has been failing to collect DNA from the accused because he is refusing to comply with DNA procedures. Expected to state their case to get Selolwane to comply with the case, Madimabe pleaded with the court to give them more time.

“We plead with this court that may we be given another date to prepare for this matter as we have not been able to fully prepare for this and the investigations for the case are still on-going,” Madimabe told the court. Presiding Magistrate, Goratile Moremi-Ramakoloi granted the state its plea. “The State has asked for more time and this court orders that the accused shall remain in custody until their next mention on March 15 where the case will be heard,” she said. In the other matter at the High Court, Selolwane has been denied bail by the court on grounds that the matter is relatively new, and investigations are still ongoing.
