Mmasekgethu publishes Tswina

The latest offering follows his first published folktale book titled, Legaleng. In an interview with Arts&Culture, he explained that Tswina, means honey adding that he is self-inspired to be a poet. He also said he would like to leave a legacy and inspire upcoming stars as well in order to preserve Setswana culture and language.
'Tswina is a poetry book that consists of 40 pages. I want Setswana poetry to be written and preserved. Therefore, I want people to enjoy my creativity through reading my poems in their own space and time. My target audience is Setswana speaking community and poetry lovers. After publishing this book, I got positive and encouraging feedback from those who read it,' he said proudly.
Furthermore, he pointed out that to shape one's poetry to accommodate a book version is a bit challenging in terms that the right language and choice of words. This is because the spoken language is different from the written one. He further stated that he already has his third book ready for publishing which is a Setswana novel titled Tshoba la mogodu.
He added that he will release more books in future. 'In years to come, I want to see myself as a force to reckon with in the writing industry and having my artwork recognised internationally. I like most of the poems in my book and it is hard to choose one. Except being an author, I am a radio teacher, culture promoter, motivator and culture promoter,' he said.
