The event coordinator, Golebaone Mmolai, told Arts&Culture that they decided to host a family-oriented event to accommodate both children and family during the Easter Holidays.
Mmolai added that they want the event to be a family-fun day where families will spend quality time together while also enjoying good music.
She said there would be activities for children such as swimming, games, a beach field, and a jumping castle. She also said they expect their guests and revellers to impress in their vintage outfits. “At our event, we accommodate family and everyone since during the day of the event it will be more fun for kids then later more fun for adults.
Our main acts for the event are Kabelo Tiro aka Skavenja, Ditiro Leero, Morwa Tsankana, Sean Pink, DJ Chabo Supporting, DJs, namely, DJ Nisto, DJ Ladyboss, DJ Vic, DJ Garozz, MC Pass P and Kingman. Tickets are sold at Down The Stream Garden in Ranaka and Dust off Sneaker Laundry Stall near the Shell Mongala Mall in Kanye. Tickets are sold at P70 for a standard ticket, P30 for kids, and P120 double ticket inclusive of a free shoe wash,” she said. Furthermore, Mmolai assured revellers that security would be very tight during the event as they expect a large number of families.
Therefore she wants them and their properties to be safe. She also pointed out that they want the Vintage Picnic Party to be an annual event. She said they wanted to use the event to promote culture, arts and music. Her advice to the public is to stop gender-based violence, obey road signs and stop alcohol and drug abuse. She called on people living in Ranaka and nearby villages such as Kanye, Moshupa, Thamaga and others to grace the event. She promised attendants the experience of a lifetime.
