Khama was recently in the UK advocating for a ban on trophy hunting and lobbying the House of Commons. The minister indicated that the House of Commons should be aware that 'Khama is a fugitive running away from the law'.

'Khama has been declared a fugitive by a competent court of law in Botswana and you should be ready to arrest him upon arrival at the airport before he sells his 'disinformation' to the lawmakers here,' Mthimkhulu appealed.

His strongest feeling was that Botswana finds herself grappling with a possible ban on trophy hunting instigated to a large extent by the former president. If the ban succeeds, it might cripple Botswana's rural economies where people depend on the proceeds from the sale of animal trophies.
