Comedian Malani plans to conquer Africa

Malani’s dream is to be a force to be reckoned with after his performances in East Africa. Malani was a busy man over the Easter holidays as he had gigs in Uganda, Kenya and South Africa. In an interview with Arts&Culture this week, Malani stated that his recent triumphs are just the beginning of what he envisions for his career.
The talented comedian has shown gratitude for the great milestones he has reached thus far. “My comedy career has not reached that pinnacle point in comedy as I intend to push even further to achieve big things in my career,” Malani said. Malani stated that he still has so much to do, as he has not yet conquered Africa or shared his craft across different continents. “For me to say I have reached that pinnacle point in my career, I first have to share my talent with people in Africa, so far it is only SADC and East African countries. I want to take my craft to West and North African countries.
I also want to see myself perform in different continents in the world, continents like Europe and North America; that is the time when I will say that I have reached the pinnacle point in my career by these milestones,” he said. Relieving his experience of a first performance in Uganda, the talented comedian highlighted that he would not trade the experience for a penny. He talked about how the people of Uganda welcomed him with open arms. “My performance in Uganda was more than everything that I experienced; it was so great to perform and they treated me like a king. Some of the local comedians also helped me prepare for my set by giving me tips,” he happily said. Moreover, Malani said he got to appreciate different cultures that he is not accustomed to back home (Botswana).
“From the tips I got, those people told me about clean comedy where you are not allowed to include sex in your comedy.
This is because the people there respect comedy that much, all family members go to these shows with their children so that’s why clean comedy is a must,” he said. Additionally, emphasised that he left an everlasting mark during his time in Uganda, as he gave them a taste of Malani.
“I believe I left my mark there because I had those people eating out of the palm of my hand from the first minute until the last minute. Because I made them laugh, I believe I left a mark,” Malani remarked. Malani is yet to return home after his performances in Uganda and Kenya, as he is currently in Pretoria where he has other gigs lined up for him.
He extended gratitude to people who continue to support his talent including sponsors, family and loyal fans.
