The awards have been established to reward the best of the best in the region and will be held on April 19 in Durban. Ramoreboli has been nominated following his sterling job at Galaxy. Galaxy are the reigning champions of the Botswana Premier League (BPL) and reached the CAF Champions League group stages.

His side stunned South African giants, Orlando Pirates to progress to the group stages of the Champions League. Through a statement, COSAFA said perhaps this could be the year to honour Ramoreboli in a season that his side recorded a stunning 1-0 win over Moroccan giants, Wydad Casablanca. Ramoreboli faces competition from countryman, Rhulani Mokwena of Mamelodi Sundowns who won the African Football League and domestic title with 'Masandawana'. Collin Benjamin, head coach of the Namibian national team is also nominated after the Brave Warriors' good display at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and impressive form in the qualifiers. Ramoreboli is the only nominee coming out of Botswana across all categories.
