Barobetse, who is a 25-year-old visionary from Lentsweletau in the heart of the Kweneng region, said she has always aspired to showcase her beauty and talent through a beauty pageant.
She also described herself as a dedicated Aesthetician, whose journey began at the Gaborone Technical College, where she honed her craft, later specialising in body contouring at the esteemed Aesthetic Laser Academy. “I am amazed and humbled to announce that my childhood dream has come true. I am now your Miss Supranational Botswana 2024/25.
One main reason that inspired me to join Miss Supranational pageant was to have an opportunity to showcase my talent, beauty and intelligence on a global platform, potentially leading to increased recognition, career opportunities and personal growth. Since embarking on my pageantry journey in 2010, it has been far from easy, filled with numerous physical and mental challenges,” she said.
Barobetse explained that with each obstacle encountered, she used it as fuel for personal growth. She added that her journey on the pageantry industry pushed her beyond her comfort zone shaping her into the confident, strong, and bold individual she is today. She also stated that throughout her pageantry journey, spanning from 2010 to 2024, it was her first time winning a crown through scooping the Miss Supranational Botswana. She further pointed out that her project that she would be doing during her reign is centred on transforming disability into ability.
Barobetse stated that she aims to raise awareness, promote acceptance and advocate for equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities. She said by leveraging her position, she plans to collaborate with organisations, policy makers and influencers to drive positive change and create a more inclusive society where everyone could thrive regardless of their abilities or inabilities.
“Throughout the competition, my family provided unwavering support. I am blessed to have such loving and supportive family and friends. Before attending the auditions, I meticulously planned every aspect of my preparation. I crafted responses for interview and audition questions and developed a concise summary of my project.
Throughout the journey, I remained focused on self-improvement, viewing myself as my only competition,” she said. “Regular introspection sessions ensured I stayed on track. I left no stone unturned in readiness for the competition. In short, I was fully prepared in every aspect mentally, physically, financially, and sartorially. I am gearing up for Poland, but I have not quite reached the level I aspire yet. I am still in the preparation phase for this journey and I am reaching out to the entire Botswana community for their support,” she added.
