Young Stars played to a 1-1 draw with relegation-threatened Mogoditshane Fighters on Saturday. Brimming with delight and jubilation, Tlou was more than amazed as his side secured the league title and warned Premier League teams to expect good competition from them. “We are a good side. I have got good players and my boys listen well and they play football. So teams should expect a lot from us because we are going to give them a tough time in the Premier League.

I can assure you because I know these boys. We will prepare hard and see how it goes,” Tlou remarked.

The gaffer was pleased with his side’s tenacity after the team trailed by one goal for the most part of the game but managed to equalise and earn promotion. “We really played well and fought hard until we equalised because we were comfortable on the ball though it was difficult playing a relegation team but with us, all we needed was to equalise and secure a point that sends us to the Premier League,” Tlou happily said. The road to glory for Young Stars was paved with resilience and unwavering commitment as throughout the season they showcased their intent to claim the coveted title by winning 15 games, suffering five losses while one game ended in a stalemate.

Four minutes into the game, Young Stars was stunned by Fighters who took an early lead. Fighters capitalised on a defensive error by Young Stars after the goalkeeper, Stephen Tselaesele, came out of his posts early and Tebogo Mogotsi made no mistake. Probing for an equaliser, Serati Semadi was denied from close range by Tumisang Nawa. Seven minutes into the second half, Young Stars managed to level matters as their messiah, Botsile Kebaikanye, scored through a header to make 1-1. Mokaedi Ditsie for Young Stars kept the dream alive for his team with a great save off the line. The game ended in one-all draw.
