The talented choir, known for its exceptional performances in the choral industry, took the audience on a musical journey with the rendition of works from G. Rossini’s Stabat Mater.

The event showcased the choir’s growth and achievements in the choral industry, highlighting its dedication to nurturing youth singing talent and promoting cultural exchange with other nations.

This year, the choir decided to elevate the standard of choral music in Botswana by organising a classical concert, a bold move that paid off brilliantly. Spokesperson of Maikano Serenaders, Enerst Mmani, highlighted that the Maikano Serenaders' commitment to nurturing young talent is evident in the choice of repertoire for the Orchestral Show.

By performing works from G. Rossini’s Stabat Mater, they are not only showcasing their own skills but also introducing audiences to the beauty and complexity of classical music. This dedication to education and growth is what sets the Maikano Serenaders apart from other choral groups in Botswana. One of the main highlights of the evening was the collaboration with the Da Capo Orchestra Group from Klerksdorp, South Africa. The renowned and experienced orchestra added a new dimension to the choir's performance, enhancing the overall musical experience for the audience.

The Maikano Serenaders Orchestral Show not only entertained but it also inspired the audience, showcasing the beauty and power of choral music.

The choir’s commitment to excellence and their passion for promoting cultural exchange through music was evident throughout the evening. Mmani explained that the decision to collaborate with Da Capo Orchestra is a strategic one, as it not only adds a new dimension to the Maikano Serenaders’ performance but also opens up new opportunities for cultural exchange and learning. “By working with experienced musicians from South Africa, the choir is able to expand their horizons and learn from the best in the industry,” he added. As the final notes of the Stabat Mater echoed through the GICC, it was clear that the Maikano Serenaders had succeeded in their mission to take choral music in Botswana to greater heights.

Their performance was a testament to the talent and dedication of the choir members, as well as a celebration of the beauty of music. “With our commitment to excellence and passion for choral music, the Maikano Serenaders are sure to continue making waves in the choral industry for years to comes,” said Mmani.
