Tebogo's mother's memorial service begins today

Following the passing of sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo’s mother, Seratiwa Tebogo, the family will host the first memorial service this evening in Block 10 at the family home.
 
Following the passing of sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo’s mother, Seratiwa Tebogo, the family will host the first memorial service this evening in Block 10 at the family home.

Family spokesperson, Ralph Kgabanyane told Mmegi Online that as they hold the memorial service for the sprinter's mother, they are yet to finalise his mother's funeral arrangements, which will be tentatively on Saturday.

“Along the airport road, take the first turn right into Block 10. Proceed ahead on the road. Turn left at a glass building. After the curve to the right, you'll see [procession] cars [parked],' Kgabanyane shared the directions to the memorial service.

Seratiwa passed on Sunday morning following a short illness. Letsile is currently participating at the Grand Prix in Los Angeles, USA. He scooped Sports Person of the Year and Sports Man of the Year at the 43rd Botswana National Sport Council awards held on Saturday.

Scores of well-wishers including government officials have issued their condolences to the athlete and his family.

“Seratiwa Tebogo was a pillar of strength and support for Tebogo throughout his athletic journey. Her unwavering dedication and belief in her son undoubtedly played a significant role in his remarkable achievements,” reads a statement from the Botswana Athletics Association.

Another statement posted on the BWGovernment Facebook page reads: “Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn the loss of your beloved mother, Seratiwa Tebogo.”

Vice President Slumber Tsogwane also shared on Facebook: “My deepest condolences go out to you, Tebogo Schoolboy Letsile, your family, and relatives. May God’s hand touch you, may His face shine upon you, and may you find comfort in His eternal love. Tsotlhe di molemo ka Morena Jeso. Amen.” “She got her flowers on home soil,” reads another message from BotswanaPost Chief of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego.
