Nkobolo, Ncenga, Khutsafalo to benefit from Clash of Legends

Last year, three footballers, Malepa Bolelang, Mosimanegape 'Twizer' Ramohibidu and Moemedi 'Jomo' Moatlhaping each received around P30,000 after the inaugural edition raised more than P90,000 for the beneficiaries. At least 17,000 fans turned up for the match played at the National Stadium during the off-season.
Bolelang suffered a freak accident which forced the amputation of his right leg, while Ramohibidu was left wheelchair bound due to a car crash, while Moatlhaping was forced to retire due to illness. This year's beneficiaries, Ncenga, Nkobolo and Khutsafalo are now wheelchair bound after suffering misfortunes.
One of the Clash of Legends organisers, Sekhana 'Nandos' Koko said last year's beneficiaries managed to start projects from the 'little' that they got. 'We hope to assist our new beneficiaries as well. We hope for your support,' Koko said during the launch of the event at car dealer, Star Chery Botswana showroom today. He said there will be new faces to the team with Mogogi 'Gino' Gabonamong making his first appearance, while due to popular demand, Tshepiso 'Sox' Molwantwa is retained.
Former Zebras skipper, Mompati 'Apache' Thuma will captain the team. Koko said they are still appealing to sponsors in order to make this year's edition a success. Representing South African legends, Mathew Booth said it is exciting to be part of the project. 'To the beneficiaries, know that this is not a handout but an appreciation for what you have done. We will do football clinics for young ones on the day as part of giving back to the community,' he said. Booth added that they have added left back, Tshepo Masilela and Katlego 'Killer' Mphela into this year's line-up.
Negotiations with new faces are ongoing, but Brian Baloyi and Moneeb Josephs are the confirmed names between the sticks for Bafana Bafana legends. Nkobolo, who was present at the event thanked the organisers for the recognition and the opportunity to 'start afresh.' Meanwhile, Chery Star Botswana business consultant, Fobby Radipotsane said they expect this year's Clash of Legends edition to be bigger and better. 'We want to continue the journey that we started last year. This year it is going to be massive,' Radipotsane said. The company's chief executive officer, Edwin Strauss said fans who buy tickets before June 27, stand a chance to win a brand new Chery Tiggo 4 Pro. The game is at the National Stadium, with tickets selling for P120 (grand stand), P60 for Panda while a seat at the north and south stands costs P40.
