Green economy: An imperative for KAZA

 



He was speaking to a discussion that addressed issues around the question: What are the global best practices for advancing green growth and how do they apply to KAZA TFCA? Scheren spoke of unlocking and growing the wildlife economy in the KAZA TFC and of course, striking a balance between conservation and development.

Emphasis was made that a green economy was imperative for the KAZA area. The area was even challenged to practice sustainable green tourism. A green economy generally refers to an economy that aims at reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities and that aims for sustainable development without degrading the environment.
