In an interview with Arts&Culture, Lolo Mooka, the creative director of Sip N' Paint, shared insights into what attendees can expect from the event. 'The Sip N' Paint event is a vibrant celebration of Botswana’s youthful culture, where art meets music and tradition meets modernity. It is an evening designed to be sophisticated and enriching, perfect for a mature audience, the soulful sounds of Botswana will provide an inspiring backdrop, accompanied by a selection of fine wines and beverages to enhance the evening. It is a night of creativity, connection and cultural appreciation,' said Mooka.

Mooka says the focus of the event is on the edutainment aspect, blending education with entertainment. 'Participants will not only take home their own artwork but also a sense of achievement and a deeper connection to Botswana’s culture,' she stated. Furthermore, she emphasised the importance of community and cultural celebration. 'This event is a way to bring the community together and celebrate our culture, it is an opportunity for everyone to express themselves creatively, relax, and connect with others,' she said. Additionally, Mooka said that the event also promotes and preserves local culture through art. 'We are currently in talks with Thapong Visual Arts Centre, exploring prospects of partnering to make our sessions a platform for artists to further exhibit and showcase their work,' Mooka revealed. Additionally, Mooka says that the event is about celebrating art and creativity, offering artists an alternative avenue to be seen and heard.

'The event enriches participants by allowing them to tap into their inner creativity while enjoying the vibrant culture of Botswana,' said Mooka. Furthermore, Mooka revealed plans for follow-up events and workshops. 'Our Sip N' Paint sessions are held once a month, each with a different theme, every month offers a new experience, ensuring each session is fresh and exciting,' Mooka explained.
