Mogotsi coy on future

Mogotsi was on 'loan' to Motlakase for the two-legged Premier League playoff tie against Uniao Flamingo Santos. Motlakase held a 1-0 lead after the first leg away at the VTM Arena but were stunned 2-1 at the Palapye Stadium to take the game to a penalty shootout. Santos emerged 4-3 victors after the penalty kicks to claim a spot in the elite league. Speaking to MmegiSport after the second league tie, Mogotsi did not want to comment on his future. 'That one is a question for another day and my intention is to go on with football obviously,' he briefly said. It was the second time that Mogotsi led Motlakase to a playoff defeat against Santos.
The two teams met in 2016 with Mogotsi in charge of Motlakase and Santos managed to secure promotion after winning away in Palapye. Mogotsi is, however, expected to return to Motlakase's neighbours, Wanderers where he will resume his role as Philemon Makwengwe's deputy. He enjoyed a bright spell with Motlakase in the early years of his coaching career until he moved to Wanderers in 2018. Mogotsi has deputised amongst others, the late Rahman Gumbo, Oris Radipotsane and Daniel ‘Chico’ Nare at the 'Coal Boys'. He has, however, had a topsy-turvy stay with the club as he was suspended in 2022 for allegations that he was sabotaging then head coach, Nare. In November 2023, he was appointed interim head coach at the club, a position he held until the appointment of Makwengwe in February.
Meanwhile, former Township Rollers and Gaborone United's head coach, Nikola Kavazovic has secured a move to Uganda Premier League side, Vipers SC ,ruling out a move back to the local shores. Last week, the Serbian coach hinted he is closing on a new deal and sent the local football fans and pundits guessing if he was returning to the Botswana Premier League.
