In an exclusive interview with Arts&Culture, Mokgaotsane explained that she was recently featured on SABC 2’s Hectic Nine-9 show at Cape Town, South Africa, where she then had the platform to share insights about the music and art industry of Botswana during the African Month celebration. 'I was contacted for an interview regarding the art and music scene in Botswana, and I closed the show with a live performance of my own song,' Magadi revealed. She said her passion for music stems from her upbringing and exposure to various art forms. 'I've always been a creative person brimming with ideas. My father used to play music on our drives, igniting my passion for music from a young age,' she explained.

Furthermore, Magadi said her musical journey took off in March 2022 when she performed for the first time at 'Perfect Noise', a local live performance event in Botswana. 'Stepping on stage with a live band was exciting, the audience’s energy and support gave me the confidence to pursue music,' Mokgaotsane. On other issues, she said despite being relatively new to the scene, she is determined to take a fluid and authentic approach to her music. 'I particularly enjoy dreamy sounds and genres like Alternative/Avant R&B, Hip-Hop, Psychedelic Soul, Jazz, and Indie music. My debut song, Backseat Headrush, encapsulates the dreamy vibe I resonate with and hope to further explore in my new releases,' Magadi remarked.

Furthermore, Magadi' said her talent caught the attention of Nikky Dymondz, leading to a feature on the EP, 'BROKE RAPPER'. 'I’m grateful for the opportunity Nikky Dymondz gave me, and I must say I’m currently working on features with other talented creatives from Botswana as well as my own releases in the near future,' she said. Looking ahead, Magadi says she is excited about her upcoming projects, which she said includes new music videos. 'I’m excited for all the work being done behind the scenes and I cannot wait to show my followers what I have been working on; there is new music and videos that I will be releasing soon,' said Magadi.
