GinMeOldSkul RnB Brunch to redefine entertainment

The GinMeOldSkul event is slated for June 29th at Grand Aria Hotel.
Event coordinator, Leatile Makgale told Arts & Culture in an interview that the GinMeOldSkul event is an initiative that aims to change the entertainment industry in Botswana where festivals are dominant.
“Gin Me Brunch was created to redefine the brunch experience to merge nostalgic vibes of old school RnB sophistication and versatility of gin,” Makgale said. The event organizer Makgale stated that they wanted to take people on a new adventure where they can be back at their warm homes before midnight. “It is about bringing people together to celebrate good food, exceptional drinks and great company in a lively and warm atmosphere. With our busy lives dressing up, getting away from the kids and other adult responsibilities for eight hours isn’t such a bad idea and be back home early,” he said. Makgale further highlighted that the event was inspired by an initiative to resurrect the dying culture of old school RnB.
“The inspiration came from a love for old school RnB, common decline in ability to stay out late within my mates’ group and the communal joy of brunch gatherings,” he said. Makgale elaborated that the event will not only be centred around celebrating old school RnB but will also enjoy different flavours of gins available on the day. Regarding preparations, Makgale stated that they are more than ready for the event as tickets are already sold out for the day.
