Miss Teen Universe Botswana finale a night of splendor

The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of beauty, talent, and empowerment. Miss Teen Universe Botswana chief executive officer, Tshepho Tlhapi, explained that the evening will feature a series of highlights, starting with a dynamic performance by all contestants. Tlhapi said this vibrant showcase, often involving dance or a themed introduction, will set the tone for the event. 'The evening gown segment will follow, where contestants will exhibit elegance and poise in formal evening wear. To emphasise confidence and fitness, there will also be a swimwear segment,' Tlhapi said. She said the pageant’s primary aim is to motivate, support, and empower our contestants. She stated that the organisation is dedicated to promoting confidence and self-esteem among participants, ensuring they shine on and off the stage.
'Entertainment for the night includes performances by local artists and dancers, with notable acts such as The Dance Trio and BranT MO set to take the stage. The judging criteria for the pageant are comprehensive, evaluating contestants on poise and confidence, personality, physical fitness, elegance and style, intelligence and awareness, grace under pressure, and overall impression,' she explained. Meanwhile, Karabo Moeti, the pageant coordinator, highlighted the importance of these aspects, noting that they collectively determine a contestant’s ability to represent the title with dignity and responsibility. He stated that the winner of Miss Teen Universe Botswana will earn a fully paid trip to represent Botswana internationally. Additionally, runner-ups will have the opportunity to compete on international stages such as Miss Teen Charm, Miss Teen World, and Miss Tourism Africa.
“Contestants went through extensive preparation before the competition. This includes training in public speaking, stage presence, talent development, personal branding, community service, and mental preparation. Activities such as a games night and a picnic during the boot camp aim to build camaraderie and ensure contestants are mentally and socially prepared for the grand finale,” he said. Moeti also explained that Miss Teen Universe Botswana is committed to inclusivity and representation. He said the pageant embraces contestants from diverse backgrounds and includes segments celebrating different cultures. Anti-discrimination policies are strictly enforced, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. Furthermore, he said the organisation also emphasises talent and intelligence, encouraging community engagement and promoting positive body image. He explained that even though organising an event of this magnitude comes with challenges. 'Budget management, logistics, participant management, venue selection, and maintaining judging fairness are all critical aspects that the team addresses meticulously. We managed to pull it through, sponsorships, detailed planning, and the use of event management software help ensure the event runs smoothly,' he added. Moeti highlighted that the vision for Miss Teen Universe Botswana encompasses empowerment, diversity, advocacy, leadership, and personal growth
. The pageant aims to inspire young girls to pursue their dreams, celebrate cultural diversity, advocate for social causes, and develop leadership skills. Tickets are available now, and can be purchased through contacting the event organisers and other members. Standard tickets sell for P250 each whereas the double tickets are P400 and VIP P350 each.
