Ntshingane has been on the BFA executive committee since 2016, winning under the 'Friends of Football' before switching allegiance to the 'Letshwiti' camp in 2020. The former Zebras midfielder has now broken ranks with incumbent president, Maclean Letshwiti's camp and will go for the big prize when the BFA votes on September 14. It is unclear if he will run under a lobby group or if he will go solo. Letshwiti is widely expected to seek a third term. Another former BFA vice president, Tariq Babitseng has also expressed interest in running for the presidency. Babitseng was instrumental in the campaign for the Friends of Football camp in the build-up to the 2012 elections. Tebogo Sebego, who had indicated he was in the contest, this week dropped a bombshell as he opted out of the race. Sebego accused the Letshwiti administration of using every dirty trick in the book to stop his candidature.
