Botswana have never defeated Tanzania who have started the tournament on a strong footing after a 5-0 victory over hosts Tunisia. The Mares are in Tunisia for the three-nation tournament that forms part of the side's preparations for next year's Women's Africa Cup of Nations finals. The Mares' game against Tanzania kicks-off at 6pm and Alex Malete's charges know they have their work cut out against the East Africans.
The Twiga Stars have defeated the Mares three times, while the other match ended in a stalemate. The Mares captain and goalkeeper, Sedilame Boseja said the team is more than ready for the challenge as they will be able to test themselves against strong opponents. “We are very much prepared for the game and its very much important for us to win. We drew 1-1 with Namibia and won 2-0 against Lesotho so we have to improve more on converting our chances that’s how we can improve our game,” Boseja said. The winner will be determined through the use of a point system. The Mares will have to get the scalp of Tanzania to stand a chance of being crowned champions others the Twiga Stars, with a victory, will be crowned the winners.
