A British tourist traveling from Chobe to Johannesburg has died in a road mishap after a mini-bus collided with a Honda Fit near the Pilikwe-Lecheng turn off this (Monday) afternoon
 
A British tourist traveling from Chobe to Johannesburg has died in a road mishap after a mini-bus collided with a Honda Fit near the Pilikwe-Lecheng turn off this (Monday) afternoon

The 82-year-old woman and other 26 tourists were traveling to South Africa when their 65-seater mini-bus was involved in a collision along the Martin's Drift- Palapye road. Palapye acting police station commander, Assistant Superintendent, Goletwa Kethamile said the accident occured when the Honda Fit driver, a 40-year-old woman attempted to avoid a pot hole. 'The woman failed to control her car back into her lane resulting in a head-on collision with a 65-seater bus (carrying the tourists) and it (bus) overturned. The tourists were rushed to Palapye hospital but the woman was certified dead on arrival. Other tourists are still receiving treatment while hospitalized at Palapye hospital with different injuries,' he said. He further stated that the Honda Fit driver sustained a fractured right thigh and she is also hospitalized at the same hospital.
