An achievement beyond wildest dreams

The 17-year-old beauty with brains says she is proud of herself, as this is an achievement beyond her wildest dreams. She also says she is honoured to have been given the opportunity to raise the blue, black and white flag, walking in the footsteps of her role models, Mpule Kwelagobe, Lesego Chombo, and many other Batswana women who have raised the flag high with pure grace before.
“I feel so grateful. Grateful is an understatement. It all started as a dream and now has become my reality, which is something that feels so surreal. I did not think that I would make it this far and still cannot comprehend how. But one thing I can definitely say is that it would not have been possible without the love and support of Batswana.
The competition was very strenuous but absolutely worth it. I spent a total of 11 days with 27 girls from different backgrounds and different cultures. I can most definitely say that I am the most open-minded person after this competition. You never really get to appreciate the world we live in until you have 27 countries sitting with you eating dinner. We live in such a beautiful world and have such beautiful people. It is now time for us to embrace it. I am thankful to Miss Teen International for giving me this experience,” she proudly said. Furthermore, she pointed out that she was “1,000% prepared” for the crown and thanked Miss Teen Botswana organisation team members for being her pillars and for preparing her for the competition and the challenges she was yet to face. She explained that they never knew what it was that the international organisation was looking for. She explained that she decided to stick to her genuine personality and not be like anyone else.
She also said she remembered that she was there to represent her nation and all the young, beautiful girls, most naturally and realistically possible. She added that it was about remembering where someone comes from and knowing where they were going. This young woman from Tumasera village scored two awards, outside the third runner-up award. These are the Miss Popularity Award and the Best National Costume voted for by the fans.
“As the current reigning queen, the biggest project that I am working on is my foyer running project, and that is Smile, the Little Flower Foundation. This is a foundation that aims to make the dreams of young people become a reality. This is through various modes, such as talent development, literacy development, and overall ensuring that much-needed resources are provided especially to children in rural areas. I have always believed that early childhood is the most fundamental part of human life.
That is simply because that’s where dreams, aspirations, goals, and overall understanding of the world are formulated,” she said.
“I want to give all the children in my nation the same opportunity to ensure that their dreams become true, and they live in a bright, happy, prospering world.
I have always believed that the little littlest things make the biggest impact and so through conducting various donation drives and popping up at various schools to give little lectures. The smallest actions will create the biggest and most memorable impacts in these children’s lives. The biggest motivation for me is the idea that I do not stand here as a leader, but I stand here as a representative of every child in my nation stream,” she added.
Her advice to aspiring queens is that they must always remember where they come from and always understand where they are going for they do not know what is being looked for, what is being searched and so she urged them to bring their best selves to the table all the times.
