Egner finished third in her heat but could not proceed to the next round

Egner had finished in position three with a time of 58.98 during the heat, which was won by Paige van der Westhuizen of Zimbabwe with Tilly Collymore of Grenada in second position. Speaking after the event, Egner said she was not happy about her time, finishing third and 27th overall. “You learn from different races. I hope to work hard in the next four years and qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Hopefully, that is when I will qualify for the semi-finals. I will be moving to America for training at Virginia Tech and that will make me improve and qualify for the next Olympics,” she said.
