Bale launched QueensLook Beauty on Saturday at Tawana, Broadhurst. The place is beautiful, coloured pink blush and just when a person enters the reception area where they also do nails, hair installation. The decoration is breathtaking and gives queen vibes from the elegantly designed couches to the small tables and a top nail polish cabinet placed at the corner to a white and pink reception counter. The massage room is also clean, relaxing with grey towel complementing the bed that is spread with white sheets. In an interview with this publication, Bale explained that she worked for both the government and NGOs.

She said while working, she did nails and make-up as a part time job. She then quit her job as a research officer to focus on her passion of beauty therapy. 'QueensLook Beauty was established in 2018 while I was still on internship at the Department of Roads and Transport. The services offered are make-up for all occasions, massages, nails, pedicure, facials, body scrub, waxing and hair installation. After completing the internship, I took the money and went onto study Beauty Therapy at Shahnaz Herbal Beauty and Skin Care. I also did a make-up class with Thomamo Diamond, a gel application at Dehandz Nail Practice,' she proudly said.

However, she pointed out that before COVID-19, the business was doing so well but when the pandemic struck, it started fluctuating. She also said of recent, it gained the momentum and started doing well. She added that they even introduced new services such as hair installation and facials. Furthermore, she said their clients were receiving the business so well to the extent that some even suggest more ideas that they implement. She added that their target market was both men and women. 'Helping people feel confident and comfortable in their skin is incredibly rewarding for me.

That is why I pursued formal training in beauty therapy and I am excited about the opportunity to continue growing in this field. We use organic natural skin care products and we are in partnership with them because of their best products which are manufactured here in Botswana by a Motswana (Didintle Moreki). The products are natural products manufactured with indigenous plants in Botswana like Mowana, Morula and many more plants we have in our country,' she said. She added that they advise their clients to do facials with them every 21 days and buy their organic natural skin care products to use at home.

She added that they assess their skin and then recommend products. Bale also said that their organic natural skin care products are available at their spa. Speaking of the challenges they face, she said it was that the beauty industry changes every day, adding that there were also some new trends. She said for them to keep up with the trends, they spend a lot in taking employees for training every year. As a team, she pointed out that they achieved a lot also saying they benefited a lot on personal and professional developmental growth. They acquired new skills, new clients, networking and so much peace because she says she wakes up every day to supply services and products that enhance their clients’ physical appearance and mental relaxation.

'My dream is to have branches out of Gaborone in the future because we have clients who travel from as far as Tsabong, Maun and Francistown to do services at our spa. We are creative beauty therapists and enjoy helping customers reach their beauty goals. Our skills, creativity, experience set us apart from other beauticians. Our aim is building self confidence, esteem and self care for both men and women through the art of beauty therapy. To aspiring beauticians, please do not give up, your dream is valid. Be patient and always allow yourself to learn from other beauticians. Every day I learn something new, do research and read every day because in the beauty industry, there is something new every day,' she ended.
