In an interview with a representative from Itholoke Primary School, One Matheo, the event is meant to bring fun into their pupils' lives and raise funds for the school. She explained that the previous party planner from South Africa had wanted to organise the event for them but unfortunately could not meet their conditions. She said about 95% of their learners were needy students, living on government grants and assistance. “They have never had the opportunity to see cartoon characters (on TV or real life); they have never travelled beyond the village. Therefore, this event is a great opportunity for them to have new experiences. 'We are targeting kids of all ages.

Unfortunately, we were not able to hire any artists due to the lack of funds. 'If an artist is willing to donate his/her time to come and perform for us, they are highly welcome to do so. As this event will be held in government offices, we do not allow alcohol; only non-alcoholic drinks will be allowed,” she said. Furthermore, she explained that these types of events require a lot of capital, which they did not have hence their decision to engage a local Kiddies Festival organiser after seeing the good job he did at his events. She said they were excited when he agreed to help and give back to the children so that they too could have new experiences the other children in towns and nearby villages experience.

Matheo added that they hope to organise such an event in the future, as their students do not have the opportunity to participate in such. “Itholoke Primary School management invites the community to go and enjoy the day with us at an entrance fee of P15. We also call upon those willing to donate to the school towards the event to do so, saying it would make a huge difference in the children’s lives,” Matheo added.
