The director of Miss Universe Botswana, Safie Sekgwa, revealed that the intensive training programme will run until August 22, taking place in various stunning locations such as the Makgadikgadi Pans, Sowa Town, Nata, and Elephant Sands. Sekgwa shared that the purpose of the boot camp is to thoroughly prepare the contestants for the upcoming national finale as well as for the global Miss Universe competition. Beyond the immediate goals of the pageant, the training is designed to ready the participants for their future endeavours, with an emphasis on their professional development and charitable objectives.

A crucial focus of the boot camp is to deepen the contestants’ understanding of Botswana’s broader economic and social priorities on the world stage. As Botswana seeks to elevate its standing internationally. Platforms such as Miss Universe are being utilised to attract foreign investment and promote the country's tourism industry. 'We are committed to nurturing our contestants into influential global representatives for Botswana,' Sekgwa highlighted, emphasising the importance of their role in advancing the nation’s global campaigns. He believes that this effort will strengthen Botswana’s international image, draw in high-value tourists, stimulate foreign investments, and support the promotion of the country’s diamond industry through the authentic narratives shared by Batswana. Sekgwa also encouraged the country to capitalise on the effective media platform to drive Botswana’s economic growth.

He also noted that Botswana’s natural and cultural beauty should be showcased to compete globally, particularly in areas like diamonds, tourism, and cultural expression, which resonate with the Miss Universe ethos. As the boot camp continues, the public can expect to see the top 20 contestants as they travel across the country. A special event was planned for August 17 at Sowa Town, leading up to the grand finale. The final competition is set to take place on September 21 at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC), where one contestant will earn the chance to represent Botswana at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico City this coming November.
