For the first time, the upcoming show will feature a pop-up market. The mega event, which is expected to attract the local business community, especially SMMEs, will be held on September 21 at Molapo Leisure Gardens. According to the event promoter, Phat-Tee, the festival will comprise a family-fun day and kiddies festival which was introduced in the last edition and the newly pop-up market. He said they anticipate attracting 50 businesses to exhibit during the pop-up market, which will be held from 10am until 5pm. The pop-up market will include fashion, arts & crafts, bakery, food, educational, clinical, machinery and tourism exhibitors, to mention but a few. Phat-Tee indicated that they included the pop market to give local business networking opportunities and showcase their products and services.

He further said the family fun day will include activities such as quad bike and horse rides together with games such as snooker, chess, 360 photo booth, food competition and others. Children will not be left behind as they will enjoy face painting, jumping castles, ludo and play stations, he added. He indicated that after the pop market and family fun games, elders will be treated to galore entertainment during the 12-hour after-party full of good music. Phat-Tee indicated that the 12-hour after-party features South African oldies pop band, Platform One. Platform One is a South African music group which started in the early 90’s in Pimville Square in Soweto.

The group is known for their popular songs such as Taste and Pass, Womnyakazisa, and Thuli among others. The Isecane track which was back in the days or is still amongst their popular songs performed at weddings in Botswana, SA, Zimbabwe and Eswatini. Phat-Tee stated that local artists and DJs will share the stage with the legendary pop group. He also said some of the proceeds from the festival will be donated to the SOS Village in Francistown. “Francistowners should celebrate this festival with their families in large numbers. They should fear nothing as security will be tight,” he added. According to Phat-Tee they have engaged about 30 security personnel for the safety of the attendants and their properties.
