Lucara Botswana (Pty) Ltd operates the Karowe Diamond Mine at Letlhakane in the Boteti sub district. The plant was commissioned in April 2012 and has gone on to achieve exceptional performance. It is the source of some truly special diamonds. The plant completed major upgrades that include introduction of X-Ray Transmission (XRT) technology in diamond recovery. This is adding to the already existing innovative application of autogenous milling in diamond processing. The Company is embarking on projects, which entail enhanced large diamond recovery.

PROCESS SUPERINTENDENT

Job Summary

The Process Superintendent coordinates and manages productivity, manpower deployment from a strategic and operational perspective as well as operational process engineering functions with a view of ensuring deployment of best practice and ensuring effective and efficient recovery and sorting of the diamonds at Karowe Diamond Mine.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field.

• 10 years operational experience in a mineral processing production plant with 3 + years in a similar senior level position

• Engineering Registration Board membership (ERB)

• 9.1 and 9.4 Legal appointee

• Sound knowledge of process engineering principles and application in diamond processing plants

• Develops and maintains an understanding of all applicable legislative requirements and related company policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act CAP 44:02

• Knowledge of the Employment and Labour Act

• Knowledge of Budgeting and Financial concepts

• Management Development Programmes
