Police, Kutlwano set-up a date

It is always difficult to predict the winner when the two sides clash as they usually stretch each other to the maximum. Kutlwano women are going into the encounter with their egos dented after losing to Mag Stimela last weekend. The side redeemed itself by beating Spiking Stars 3-1. The men’s side is motivated after picking a 3-1 victory from Mag Stimela. Police men walloped Block Busters 3-0 while in the second match, Police emerged victorious over Sebokeng with a score line of 3-0. The women’s side did the damage against Sebokeng with a 3-0 win. The first match for Police on the day is against Molepolole-based Dikwena. The Cops men’s side sit in position four after playing four matches, with four wins and accumulated 12 points.
Kutlwano is in position three from five games, with four wins, one loss and 13 points. On the women’s side, a tough clash is expected when Police take on Kutlwano. Police is third from three outings, with a 100% record which gives them nine points. The Big House is in position four, from four games, after registering three wins and picking a single loss to accumulate nine points. Kutlwano women's captain, Tracy Chaba, told MmegiSport that preparations for the game have gone well. She said their 3-1 loss to Mag Stimela last weekend was a wake-up call. “We have corrected our mistakes from that game. We were training for Police, both sides. But time was not enough to prepare for Police, they are a big club,” she said. Kutlwano boasts of experienced players in the league such as Karabo Molefha, Caroline Rodger and Chaba. “We have youngsters who have joined us. They are ready for the game. But we should not undermine our opponents. Our preparations go beyond this match. We are gearing up for the Zone VI Club Championships in December,” she said. Police women coach, Boitumelo Steve Odisitse, said there were some challenges during preparations because some players did not turn up for training. “Some players are students, some knock off late from their jobs but we just trained with what we had. We are looking forward to the game. It is always a great encounter against Kutlwano. You cannot predict the winner,” he said.
Odisitse said they have beaten Kutlwano before, a 3-0 win during the league final, knocked them out in the semi-final of a BVF tournament, and proceeded to the final to beat Mafolofolo. He said that does not mean they should let their guard down. Meanwhile, BVF vice president-administration, Ndibo Lebala, said the league is progressing well and that the reception and feedback have been great.
