CAF president, Patrice Motsepe is pushing plans to pay association heads $50,000 (approximately) P650,000 as annual gratuity. This marks a 150% increase from the $20,000 (approx. P260,000) that member association presidents receive yearly. Motsepe, in an interview with SABC, said the association's leaders need the financial resources. 'Some of your presidents have no resources, they've got nothing and they've got to run the member associations out of their pockets,' he said. 'So, we have decided we are going to make a token contribution to every president in every member association. We cannot pay them enough and the intention was to pay them but a token of gratitude and sacrifices,' Motsepe added. The resolution is expected to be passed at the next CAF general assembly scheduled for October 10 in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
