BFA requests evening kickoff for Zebras/Egypt clash

Initially, the AFCON 2025 qualifier was scheduled to kick-off at 3pm tomorrow at Obed Itani Chilume stadium in Francistown.
According to the statement from the association, the Zebras encountered logistical issues, resulting in delay from Mauritania. They were scheduled to arrive in Botswana on Sunday night but encountered “unforeseen complications” that affected their travel plans. The statement further says that the Zebras are now expected to depart from Mauritania at 10.30pm (Mauritania time) this evening and set to arrive in Botswana at 9am tomorrow. “Taking into consideration the well being of our players after their late arrival, the BFA has formally reached out to Confederation of African Football (CAF) to request for postponement of the match to a later time in the evening. We are awaiting a response from CAF and will provide further updates as soon as we have more information,” the statement says.
Meanwhile, Egypt have already arrived in the country for the encounter.
