Skyrollers Pool challenge leaves lasting impression

The event was part of the moves by the Botswana Billiards Confederation (BBC) to encourage registration of more Pool clubs with the Registrar of Societies. The Pool leadership is currently making initiatives to meet requirements and become an affiliate of the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC). The Pool body was suspended years ago because of issues of compliance with the Registrar of Societies. Speaking to SportMonitor this week, BBC Public Relations director and one of the organisers of the recently held Team Challenge, Marang Morolong, said despite moving at a snail pace, teams registration is currently ongoing.
He explained that part of the delay is because the Registrar of Societies has been giving more attention to the registration of churches. He also said at the moment, they are waiting for a response, which is expected to confirm that the clubs are now certified and registered. Morolong added that the Skyrollers Lounge Team Challenge has left a lasting impression and they believe that soon they will see an influx of team registrations. Meanwhile, the Skyrollers Lounge tournament saw 8 Ballers Pool Club from Mochudi walk away with the grand Prize (P7, 500) after defeating Grippens (from Gaborone) 13-2 in the final. Kamogelo Lekorwe, popularly known as Masantura by the Pool fraternity was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and pocketed P1, 000.
