Utande Botswana marks a significant milestone in the Zimbabwean tech giant’s regional expansion drive. Already the innovative, cutting-edge ICT solutions powerhouse has established operations in Namibia and South Africa, and its entry into the local market is part of a broader plan to extend its influence across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. Utande Group CEO, Never Ncube, expressed enthusiasm for the company’s latest expansion, saying: “We are excited to bring our expertise and innovative solutions to the Botswana market. Our goal is to empower businesses and individuals with the tools they need to thrive in the digital age.” “We believe that by partnering with our customers and providing exceptional customer service, we can achieve remarkable results,' Ncube added when speaking at an event to launch the local subsidiary.

The Botswana operations are led by Managing Director, Constantine Nyanzero, who emphasised Utande’s commitment to establishing a strong local presence. Nyanzero highlighted the company’s experience in providing reliable internet connectivity and other technological solutions, adding that they aim to be a key player in the region’s digital landscape. Utande Botswana may be a new player in the local market, but its parent company Dandemutande has a long history of innovation. Founded in 1997 as an Internet Service Provider (ISP), the group has evolved into a full-stack technology provider, currently holding the third-largest market share in Zimbabwe. It is the country’s largest satellite provider, with a 36% market share, and is the go-to choice for major corporations, embassies, financial institutions, and international carriers. Dandemutande operates five small to medium data centres in Zimbabwe and has a significant presence at Teraco in Johannesburg, where it plans to offer cloud services to companies across the SADC region. The company is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for digital solutions, especially as businesses increasingly look for ways to enhance their IT infrastructure and improve security Utande Botswana is part of the broader Masawara Group, which has a long-standing presence in the country through sister companies such as BIC, Cresta, and Grand Re. The launch in Botswana marks a strategic move for Utande, as the country’s stable economic and business environment provides a strong foundation for growth in the SADC region.

According to company representatives, Botswana is the ideal market from which to expand further into the region, given the shared values and aspirations between Utande and the local population. The range of services offered by Utande Botswana reflects the company’s commitment to supporting businesses of all sizes. From cloud services such as virtual private servers (VPS), colocation, and hosting, to cybersecurity solutions including firewalls and endpoint security, Utande is equipped to meet the needs of a variety of industries. The company also provides software development, IT hardware, and value-added services like VoIP and managed IT solutions, all of which are designed to help businesses thrive in a digital world. With a comprehensive suite of services and a commitment to customer satisfaction, the company is poised to make a significant impact on the local economy and contribute to the ongoing digital transformation across the region.
