Even the scorching sun of about 40 degrees, the exact opposite of last year’s affair, where rain almost messed up the order of the day, could not dampen the spirits of the attendees to stay away from the exclusive event. Notably, the event attracted mostly young women in their mid 30s. Each one flaunting their version and interpretation of the theme ‘express yourself’. By 3pm the venue, the Fig Tree pool area was already filled to capacity as the gin enthusiasts were treated to an array of gin products. About 12 distributors had lined up to teach attendees about their offering to hopefully win them over forever.
Speaking to the event organiser and marketing manager at the hotel, Malebogo Bahakgametse, she expressed gratitude to the loyal attendees of the event. She said they have noted that the event has attracted a lot of followers because they receive an influx of people inquiring about tickets. Although the event was not sold out this year, a sizable number of people flocked the event. “Year in we try to obviously change the way we did things the previous year because we have noted that there are those loyalists who attend every single year. We want to give people the gin experience. This is not necessarily a musical event but more of engagement and networking ,” she said. Keeping people entertained were DJ Lefatshe, Boogie Sid just to mention but a few. Overall the event was a success.
