Inspired by the Sanskrit word for the crown chakra, Sahasrara explores the delicate journey from deep friendship to distant strangers, yet refuses to let pain transform into bitterness. The new single showcases Dato Seiko’s growth as an artist and as a person, offering listeners a chance to connect with their own moments of introspection and healing.

According to a press release from her team, the new track showcases Dato Seiko's signature, a soft yet powerful presence in the music scene.

Sahasrara is named after the chakra that connects the soul to higher realms of consciousness. It is a personal anthem of grace in the face of adversity. In her own words, Dato describes the track as a 'soft diss track'—a tender expression of her pain that never strays from the principle of karma. “Even in my hurt, I remain gracious. I do not wish ill on anyone, regardless of how much they have hurt me, because I truly believe in karma and all her shapes and forms,” she reflects.

The song delicately unpacks the experience of living with unresolved emotions, confronting the fallacy that time alone heals all wounds. Dato masterfully navigates the uncertainty of relationships through poignant lyricism, “Was I catastrophising the situation, or just gaslighting myself into letting unsettling feelings slide for the sake of love?” she rhetorically asks. Every line reveals a moment of vulnerability, culminating in a cathartic release that captures the artist’s emotional truth.

“Writing Sahasrara was painful but necessary. I relived memories I would have buried, wondering about all the ‘what-ifs’ and questioning if I was too soft for this world. But by the end of it, I knew this was my favourite song—it felt like a journey through pain and into peace,' Dato says as she reflects on her creative process.
