Magang's name 'oddly' omitted for global post

Nobody took the blame. How could an application that was made in February for a May submission be late? And also the fact that no one communicated any of this to me,” said a disappointed Magang. Meanwhile, the former BVF president, Daniel Molaodi has been elected into the FIVB board during the congress held in Portugal. Molaodi represents the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) on the board. He told MmegiSport that he was humbled and excited by the appointment. “I come from afar with this sport and to finally reach this level is a testament to my love for this game and commitment to the growth of volleyball. I am humbled because it took volleyball and indeed others to allow me to lead them in various capacities to develop me to this level where zonal, continental, and international volleyball leaders have trust that I can be amongst those who should lead the development and growth of volleyball in the international space,” he said.
'I am further humbled partly because I am achieving all this without the support of the BVF, especially the leadership,' he added. When asked how his appointment will benefit volleyball in the continent and Botswana, Molaodi said FIVB is responsible for the growth of volleyball globally. He said countries are structurally and administratively at different levels of growth through performance. “When the FIVB crafts policies and assistance programmes in these various aspects, it is important that the African context of volleyball development and growth is understood and appreciated,” he said. “It is my duty to present the African picture so that relevant and appropriate programmes of assistance are designed for African volleyball needs and by extension Botswana,” he further said. Molaodi appreciated those who gave him the chance to lead and grow to an international level. He noted that Botswana has never had a volleyball leader who progressed to sit in the CAVB executive and board of administration as well as the FIVB executive board.
The new FIVB board is set to work to drive the continued growth and success of volleyball worldwide through the pillars of professionalism, integration, empowerment, and mass participation outlined in the Strategic Vision 2024-2032. Fabio Azevedo was unanimously elected as the new FIVB president. Other CAVB members on the FIVB board are Nakaonga Agness Kakoma from Zambia and Sanga Issouf Kone from Ivory Coast.
