They returned to the second tier league this season after spending some time in the regional leagues. However, their return has been impressive in the first five rounds of the league action. They have so far collected nine points from five games. They won two, drew three and scored five goals in the process. As such, they are among three other sides that are yet to lose a match this season. On Saturday afternoon, Young Strikers temporarily lost their position at the top to Tlokweng United but regained it on Sunday following their entertaining draw against Prisons XI. Tlokweng United now sit on position two following their 1-0 win over UB Hawks on Saturday. Only a point separates them and log leaders, Young Strikers. On top of that, United currently have the best goal difference (four) in the league. Police XI, who have been sitting in position two before the past weekend’s league action, dropped to position three after the 0-0 away draw against Desert Nxau.
The Jungle Kings, as Police XI are affectionately called by their supporters, have so far accumulated eight points from five games. Two other former Premier League sides, Prisons XI and Notwane follow behind with seven points each. New comers, Sand Diamonds once again proved that they are a difficult opponent to deal with when playing at home after they held Holy Ghost to a 1-1 draw. Diamonds are now sitting at position six with seven points. Jwaneng Young Stars and Notwane played to a 1-1 draw in Jwaneng on Saturday afternoon. The draw leaves Young Stars sitting on position nine with five points. UB Hawks and Magosi FC have collected four points each, with the former sitting at the bottom with an inferior goal difference. Interestingly, only five points separate the team at the bottom of the league table from the one at the summit.
