BREEDER FARM GENERAL MANAGER

Ross Breeders Botswana- Breeder Farms

Master Farmer Feeds (Pty) Ltd require the services of an experienced Breeder Farm General Manager for Breeding Operation in the Gaborone and surrounding areas. While this position is focused on the Primary Breeding Operations, the incumbent will be required to assist at the Hatcheries from time to time. Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the following

• Planning, Co-ordinating and Management of Parent Stock, Hatching Egg and Day-old chick supplies

• Overseeing the Breeding Operation and maximizing production of fertile Hatching Eggs

• Planning and ensuring strict Biosecurity procedures are maintained.

• Planning and coordinating the implementation of the Parent Stock vaccination and serology monitoring programs.

• Liaising and working with Hatcheries on a continual basis.

• Preparing, Managing, Controlling, and working within targeted budgets

• Working closely with the Accounts Department to maintain discipline with account control.

• Preparation and presentation of Weekly and Monthly Reports.

• Liaising with customers

• Project Management for new developments

The prospective candidate should possess the following attributes

• A Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or relevant experience

• Further training in poultry management with emphasis on Broiler Breeder management would be an added advantage

• Over 10 Years’ experience in Broiler Breeder Farm Management

• Knowledge of Broiler Breeding is essential

• A sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Good interpersonal and negotiating skills
