The much-anticipated fest is billed to feature some of the biggest stars in the music industry alongside some bright upcoming talents. The headliners are the legendary South African Afro-soul crooner, Johnny Mokhali, the internationally acclaimed Culture Spears and Sereetsi & The Natives. Also joining the headliners is recent BOMU award-winning artist, Thato Tladi, whose most recent hit, Nanabela, is arguably one of the best and most loved songs to come out in 2024. An interesting addition to the line-up is Starks Daemon, former frontman and founder of heavy Rock band, Wrust. He will be bringing his brand of rock to the fest, adding another exciting layer and depth to the proceedings. Newcomers, the youthful Ignite band, promises to showcase just how the future of live music is in the best shape ever. Their menu ranges from Jazz to Afro Pop. “Another newcomer to look out for is Moe Lee, a powerhouse vocalist and songwriter that we are proud to provide a platform for.
She is the sound of amazing things to come in 2025. Mark my words,” says the festival curator, Dolly Chansiku. She also says that the festival is a music lover’s dream come true. “We love music and we are building a brand to provide a home for other like-minded individuals to find each other and celebrate the unadulterated joy of well-brewed music. As you can tell, the music is an eclectic mix from classic Afro Soul, traditional, contemporary folk, Amapiano/Dance/Deep House, Rock to Jazz. We love all music,” she says. She says that they are big fans of real live music. “We realised that around the festive season real live music with real musicians playing real instruments tends to take a backseat. We intend to ensure that this anomaly changes now and increasingly into the future. As you can see, the line-up has a lot of artists that are backed by bands,” she says. Chansiku says The Feel Good Tribe fest will start at 4pm on Sunday and they encourage revellers to put on bright and colourful outfits to celebrate the season. “We are all about positive energy, all that colour, all that vibe, all that fire,” she says.
Tickets can be bought at MO’s Open Table, Webtickets kiosk at Riverwalk, Spar and selected Choppies stores. The show is supported by venue sponsor, Mo’s Open Table, Gabz FM and Sonic Wave Sounds. “This is going to be an annual event. Please bring a camp chair and have a blast with us! We’ll also have The Feel Good Tribe merchandise on sale during the fest. Just something to take home and remember the experience. And please look out for more of The Feel Good Tribe events in 2025. We are here to stay,” she says.
